2026 Hansen Scholarship Program Info Sessions
Valued at over $100,000, the Hansen Scholarship Program provides students the financial support to fully focus on their studies, exclusive mentoring opportunities, industry connections and community to help them truly succeed at university. Applications are now open to Year 12 students starting their undergraduate studies in 2027 and will close on 30 March 2026.
Ready to learn more about the Hansen Scholarship Program? The University of Melbourne invites talented students and their parents to join an upcoming online information session – click on the below links to find out more and register. You’ll hear from a current Hansen Scholar who will share their experiences about the program and be available to answer your questions. A recording of the session will be made available for registrants who cannot tune in on the night.
University of Tasmania Natural Sciences Experience: From critters to the cosmos – applications close 1 March
A practical learning experience open to all 2026 Australian Year 12 students taking place in Southern Tasmania from 26 April to 2 May. Get inspired by our natural environment! This unique 7-day camp experience that will challenge students through hands-on natural science activities. This is a free program including transport, accommodation and meals (see below for details about the student costs covered by the University of Tasmania). Find out more about this program here. Interested students will need to complete and submit the Application form by 1 March.
- Group style accommodation for 3 nights in the field and 3 nights in Hobart.
- Your transport from Hobart to field sites and return.
- All your meals, however, you may wish to bring some extra snacks. We will be asking you to assist with some meal preparation and cleaning up duties.
- Interstate students will be eligible for reimbursement of up to $300 for air travel to get to and from Hobart. Airport transfers will be arranged by the university.

RMIT Talks and Ideas Series - Provocations: Why are We Still Talking about Gender Equality? – Wednesday 4 March, 6:30pm
Join RMIT to celebrate International Women's Day 2026 and its theme, 'Balancing The Scales', with a powerful panel of gender equity advocates. This event will be hosted by Sushi Das from the RMIT Integrity Hub and brings together leading experts, academics, and innovators to examine challenges and breakthroughs in gender equity across government, media, business, and community, as they ask the vital question: why, in 2026, are we still discussing gender equality?
Speakers include:
- Dr Niki Vincent, Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner
- Hannah Ferguson, author, journalist, podcaster and Chief Executive Officer of Cheek Media
- Dr Kathryn Daley, Assistant Associate Dean of Research and Policy Studies at RMIT and co-theme lead of RMIT's Homelessness and Housing Insecurity research program
- Dr Leonora Risse, Associate Professor in Economics at Queensland University of Technology, an Adjunct Professor with QUT's Centre for Decent Work and Industry, and a Research Fellow with the Women's Leadership Institute Australia.
