From the School Leadership Team

What a wonderful start to the school year we've had! There's been such a positive energy around the school as our students have settled into their learning and routines.
P&F and Parent Information Night
It was great to have our first P&F meeting for the year on Monday evening with excellent attendance. Our P&F did a fantastic job of arranging and hosting Parent Information Night on Wednesday evening, providing drinks and nibbles in the courtyard and continuing to foster the amazing sense of community that we enjoy at our school. It was wonderful to see so many families there, connecting with teachers and each other as we begin this year's journey together.
Youth Launch - This Friday
A reminder that we have Junior Youth and Youth Launch this Friday evening:
- 4.45pm - 6.30pm: Opening BBQ and games night for Foundation - Year 5
- 6.30pm - 7.00pm: Free dinner for all
- 6.30pm - 9.30pm: Senior Youth for students in Years 6 - 12
This is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to connect and commence another great year of children's and youth ministry.
Student Leadership
Congratulations to our School Leaders and House Captains who were installed at Chapel last Friday. We are blessed to have such capable and dedicated young people stepping into these important roles:
School Captains: Ellie and Nicholas
Vice Captains: Ruth and Hugo
House Captains:
Grenfell: Zara and William
Richardson: Mackenzee and Fateh
Sunnybrook: Willow and Jacob
All of our Year 6 Coordinators will be installed at Chapel this Friday at 8.50am. Families are warmly welcome to join us for this special occasion.
New Staff Installation, Staff and Board Blessing and Blessing of the Backpacks for Foundation students
On Sunday, 15 February, we are excited to join with Golden Grove Lutheran Church at the 9.30am service for the traditional annual blessing of Board members and our staff team. We will also install Rachel Saunders, our new Director of PYP Teaching and Learning, into her role during the service.
As a new initiative this year, Foundation families are warmly invited to join us at the service, which will also include a 'Blessing of the Backpacks' for Foundation children. The children are welcome to bring their empty school backpack with them for this occasion.
We look forward to gathering together as a community to begin the school year with worship and God's blessing.
Bus Upgrade
We are delighted to announce that our second school minibus has been upgraded to a new model, enhancing the range of opportunities we can provide for our students throughout the year. This upgraded minibus continues to play a vital role in supporting our educational programme by enabling students to participate in excursions and off-site learning experiences that enrich their classroom studies. Beyond supporting excursions, the minibus also maintains our comprehensive bus run service in the mornings and afternoons, providing convenient and reliable transport for families living in Mawson Lakes, Para Hills, Salisbury and surrounds, Golden Grove, Greenwith and many other suburbs, as well as to and from Endeavour College. We are grateful for this investment in our school's resources, which allows us to continue offering flexible learning opportunities and practical support for our school community.
TASS Parent Lounge
A reminder about TASS Parent Lounge, our online parent portal. This is a great way to be able to check that your contact details and your child's medical details are up to date, as well as to be able to view the school calendar.
Please check your email for your login information - and you are most welcome to be in touch with us if you have any queries around the login process.
Pastor - call process
As many of our families would be aware, our previous pastor, Pastor Greg, accepted a call to Faith Lutheran College in Queensland back in November 2023. Our church congregation have a 'call committee' which undertakes the process of calling, of inviting a new pastor to serve at Golden Grove Lutheran Church and in our school community. The Call Committee will meet again this week in seeking to identify another Pastor to whom a call may be extended. Thank you for your ongoing prayers for this process.
