For the past few years, we have been fortunate to have been able to provide Christmas hampers to some of our families. This year, some of our school families and some of my Chaplain Support Team provided many food items and other Christmas goodies for these hampers. 10 families received these special items to help them celebrate with their family. They have been extremely grateful. It is a privilege to help bring joy into others' lives at Christmas, the time of love, hope, peace and joy.

To finish 2025 Christmas Concert talk - Reflections on Christmas and the year that was 2025.

There are only a few days until the end of the school year, and then less than a week to go until Christmas, a busy and exciting time of the year for most people. After Christmas, we are all looking forward to having a great rest from our normal routine.

What were the highlights of the year for your family? Perhaps special birthdays, new babies or anniversaries.  What were the challenges? Perhaps they relate to family breakdown, or to work disappointments.

As we look around us, we might reflect on what has been occurring in war-torn Gaza, or Ukraine, or in South Sudan, which has the highest poverty in the world. Perspective is important. In Australia there are many difficult issues at times, but life is so much safer and better than many countries. Our best wishes and prayers for the world probably focus on war ceasing, and peace reigning. May this be so.

Most of us usually enjoy our Christmas celebrations. May you enjoy significant times with family and friends during Christmas, and have an enjoyable and refreshing holiday break, all ready for the challenges of a new year.

All the best to our Yr6 students, and others who are moving on to new adventures. We look forward to seeing everyone else in 2026. God bless you all.
