Passion Project Stalls - Ignis Launch
Over the past few weeks in Ignis Launch, students have been working in groups on their passion projects to raise awareness in addressing one or more of the World Health Organisation’s SDG goals. Students developed various fund-raising ideas and ran a stall/activity on 10th October.
As part of our Launch sessions at Viewbank College, we were required to create and carry out our very own passion projects which had to be based around one of the UN’s sustainable development goals. My group and I looked at raising awareness for communities in need of clean water and sanitation and we decided that our passion project would be a Zooper Dooper stand where all the funds received would go to the Water Project charity. I sincerely enjoyed being able to collaborate on a fundraising project, and being able to execute the project with my peers was definitely a rewarding experience. Through this experience I learned to collaborate on a project, work with peers, and execute a practical task. I recommend doing this with students in the future. Tig 9E
CareNet Christmas Drive
A message from a Hydra Launch Passion Project Group
This year Viewbank College is contributing to a Christmas drive that benefits Australian children in need, and we are asking for your help!
The year 8 launch passion project is calling on the Viewbank College community for support. This year CareNet is partnering with Viewbank College to run a Christmas drive to collect toys for Australian children who are less fortunate. In recent times so much has happened that has caused immense stress to families, which has meant that too many kids are missing out, especially at Christmas time. No child deserves to wake up on Christmas morning without a present, so get on board and donate a gift, big or small to a child this year.
We will be collecting brand new and unwrapped toys, books, and $30 gift vouchers in the general office of Viewbank college. There will be a donation box set up from Thursday 12th October – Monday 30th October. This drive is collecting toys for children and teens aged 0 – 18, so any donation will go a long way. For the cost of Friday night takeaway, you could brighten a child’s life this Christmas.
