2024 Student Leadership Team

Hello! My name is Jaydee Wong and it is truly an honour and privilege to be elected as School Captain. Growing up in Indonesia I’ve had experience doing a variety of extracurriculars from theater, gymnastics to swimming and even participating in Model UN. Currently, I’m part of the Highvale debating team and part of a dance crew outside of school. These experiences helped me foster skills such as; teamwork, creativity, and leadership. I believe high school is one of the most crucial parts of our youth. The memories and experiences we gather throughout these years stay with us for the rest of our lives. With this leadership opportunity, I am eager to create a safe and accepting space where students can thrive and flourish.

Hey there reader! My name is Christopher David, and I am honored to introduce myself as one of your 2024 School Captains. I want to thank both the student body and the teacher faculty for voting me into this position, and I am excited to embark on this journey of leadership and service. Having lived in various countries growing up, and being exposed to a variety of cultures and beliefs, I have learned the skill of empathically engaging with people vastly different from me. A skill that I will apply to my role in this leadership position, where engaging with the student body is vital. Having grown up in a culture centered around respect, it has since been fundamentally ingrained into my character. As Highvale’s 2024 College Captain, I will strive to foster this important value in our school community, creating a learning environment where both students and teachers feel safe, valued, and motivated to participate. I am excited to collaborate with both staff and students to ensure that Highvale continues to thrive. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with your ideas, concerns, or suggestions. I look forward to meeting you all!

Hello everyone, my name is Will Margaritis, and I am your 2024 Highvale Vice College Captain. I would like to start by thanking everyone who made it possible for me to be able to undertake such an important role as a captain and everyone who supported me along this journey. Next year I would like to aim to be a captain who listens to students and act on their ideas to create an enjoyable yet efficient learning environment. Some of my various interests include sports related things such as Gym and Athletics, dirt bike riding, listening to music and creating and designing. Some leadership experience I have completed in the past includes being sport captain for my primary school, helping run self defence classes at my local gym and running peer support classes for new year 7’s to the school. 2024 will be a great year for Highvale and I am looking forward to working with the SRC and my fellow captains to make sure it happens. Thank you!
