Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families

DISCOVERY CELEBRATION DAY!

Discovery Celebration Day was an exciting day was for all the students on the last day of Term 3.

After weeks of research, reading and exploring information students worked independently or in small groups finding a solution to a problem they encountered.

With a desire to build awareness or make the lives of others a little bit easier, students turned their empathy into action and designed and created many artefacts that they proudly shared and discussed with students from other classes.

Discovery topics and concept questions for Term 3 were:

Foundation: Phenomena -How do things move? 

Year 1 and 2: Science- What’s important?

Year 3 and 4: Governance – How do rights and responsibilities make a difference?

Year 5 and 6: Systems- Is life possible?

As a community of learners, we wait with anticipation to see the amazing solutions the students will create and share with us all towards the end of the year.

FOOTSTEPS INTO FOUNDATION TRANSITION PROGRAM

We are so very excited that our Footsteps into Foundation Transition program is about to start from Thursday 26th October 2:10 – 3:10pm at Maramba Primary School.

Our Foundation Transition Program is exceptionally important in strengthening connection with the school and building positive relationships with the other Foundation children and teachers. During these sessions, children will have the opportunity to interact with their potential future classmates and potential teacher for 2024.

These sessions empower the students to make a seamless transition from kinder to school. It also allows teachers to make careful observations of each child to start identifying the child's stage of development and establish the level of academic and holistic support they would benefit from at the beginning of the school year.

PARENT INFORMATION EVENING – we will also be holding an information evening on Wednesday 1st November 6:00pm – 7:00pm so please save the date. The Information and Readiness evening is designed to provide families with valuable information around the  important questions we have as parents about supporting our child's readiness for school.

There will be more information to come soon about the transition program and the information evening.
