October 2023

Welcome to Term 4

We've made it to the final quarter! It is amazing how quickly this year is flying by, and it feels like only a short time ago that we were welcoming new Year 7 students to Lynall Hall Community School. Already we are preparing for next year, organising transition days for new students and dedicating time to mapping our 2024 curriculum and developing teaching and learning resources.

We wrapped up Term 3 with an Advance Camp and Open Nights at both of our main campuses. I was fortunate to attend the camp for its final night/day and it was lovely to see students from different year levels socialising with and supporting one another. Similarly, our Open Nights were a successful mix of school staff, parents/carers and community members, current and prospective students, and the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere was something of which to be proud.

Although Term 4 is nominally one of the longer school terms, it becomes one of the shorter terms for many of our students as our Year 12s complete their studies in early November and the Year 11s not long after that. All other students will finish their 2023 classes towards the end of the term to participate in the 'Step-Into 2024' program and End of Year Activities. Term 4 will also be a busy time for staff as we prepare the school's 2024 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP), setting goals and devising strategies for continual school improvement.

I look forward to working with our students, families, and school staff to make the final term of 2023 a successful end to a busy year.
