Principal Page

One of the great privileges in establishing this school is to watch it 'become' — not just as a building or a timetable, but as a living community. Each week, I see evidence that what we have set out to build here is growing and having a positive impact. The events, activities and initiatives you will read about in this edition are moments where our values of Belong, Believe and Become come to life in visible, tangible ways - look out for information about our Share Our Success afternoon, Open Night, the rigorous classroom activities that extend and challenge students, sports events and Connection Day.
Ambulance and medical cover
Just a reminder that parents/carers are responsible for all medical expenses, including ambulance costs if they are incurred by a student at school. The college may not contact you if, in the principal’s opinion, an ambulance is required without delay. Please ensure you have up-to-date ambulance cover for your child.
Claims for the reimbursement of the cost of a personal item/property brought to school that is lost or damaged will not be paid by the school and are not covered by school insurance.
Information Regarding Reports and Conferences
The College staff are finalising assessments and learning tasks for the Term as well as beginning to work on both Cycle 3 Progress Reports and the End of Semester Reports.
Parents will be notified about the reports being released via Compass and this is likely to be on Thursday 27th June.
T&L News
Reports are due out at the end of the semester and parents-carers and students will be able to reflect on student progress after their first 6 months of secondary school. Part of this reflection will also incorporate Cycle three progress reports where again students have been assessed over the last six weeks on the alignment of our areas of assessment with our college values of Belong, Believe and Become. Parents and carers are encouraged to have conversations with their child about their achievement and together identify any positive actions that can be taken together with the college in Semester two.
Next Semester students will also undertake some new subjects, these are Music Term 3, Art Term 4 and also STEM Terms 3 & 4. All of these subjects will support student introduction to new skills and an opportunity for them to trial aspects of the curriculum they may not yet have been exposed to.
Activities Update
The last day of Term seizes the opportunity for all students to participate in the College’s first ever Colour Dash. Students are required to wear their sport uniform for the day.
Students participating in the Colour Dash are encouraged to bring:
- A plastic bag
- An oversized plain white t-shirt to wear over their uniform
- Optional items such as sunglasses/clear glasses and a towel
Parents-carers should note that the colour powders used during the Colour Dash are safe, gluten-free, non-toxic, biodegradable and suitable for all ages. They meet stringent quality standards and are commonly used in similar school events across Australia. The powders are gentle on skin, including for children with sensitivities, and wash out of clothing with soap and water. Parents and carers should indicate to their child if they do not want them to participate in the Colour Dash prior to the event, and on the day these students will just watch.
Further information regarding the colour powder product can be found at:Holi Colour Powder Australia

All students will be dismissed at the normal time of 3.00pm on Friday 26 June.
School Attendance
We would like to remind all parents/carers of the importance of regular school attendance and the requirement to provide appropriate documentation for extended absences.
If a student is absent from school for 2 or more consecutive days, a medical certificate must be provided to the college. This documentation is required to support the absence and ensure accurate attendance records are maintained.
Please ensure all absences are explained promptly through Compass and that supporting medical documentation is submitted where required.
Regular attendance is essential to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement at school. We appreciate your cooperation and support in ensuring students attend school consistently and are appropriately accounted for when absent.
