From the Principal's Desk

Loving and faithful God,

You call your people to watch over one another with hearts shaped by love. We ask that our school community be guided by your wisdom and held within your mercy.

Through the loving and protective embrace of Mary, Mother of Jesus, may we know comfort in times of uncertainty and hope in times of challenge.

Amen.

A BRIDGE OF TRUST

At school, students spend a large part of their day learning, playing and developing confidence. For parents, placing trust in others is one of the biggest steps in a child’s journey. Strong partnerships between families and teachers help create the safe, caring environment every child needs to thrive.

Teachers play an important role not only in supporting academic learning, but also in caring for students’ physical and emotional wellbeing each day. From supervising playground activities, going on excursions and encouraging healthy habits to noticing when a student may be feeling worried, tired, or unsettled, teachers are constantly looking out for the students in their care.

Children flourish when they feel safe, known, and supported. A trusting relationship between parents and teachers allows important information to be shared openly and respectfully. When families communicate changes at home, health concerns, allergies, friendships, or worries their child may be experiencing, teachers are better equipped to provide understanding and support throughout the school day.

Equally, when teachers share observations about a student’s learning, social interactions, or emotional wellbeing, parents gain valuable insight into their child’s experiences at school. Working together helps children see that the important adults in their lives are united in supporting them.

Building trust takes time, consistency, and communication. Small moments—greeting families warmly, listening carefully, responding to concerns, and celebrating successes together—help strengthen the connection between home and school. Students notice these positive relationships and often feel more secure and confident as a result.

At our school, student wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do. We value the trust families place in us each day and are committed to creating an environment where every child feels safe, respected, encouraged, and cared for—both physically and emotionally. We ask parents to place their trust in our teachers both at school and on excursions or camps outside school.

Together, parents and teachers form a partnership that helps children grow into resilient, happy, and confident learners.

All the best,

Jane Dunstone
