Co-Curricular - Senior Sport

Well done to all Rugby, Tennis and Football teams last week. It was great to see SPC sport back in action.
This weekend is our first major Home fixtures weekend with Rugby hosting Cranbrook School, Tennis coming up against Oakhill College and Football battling with St Pius X, College. As always, our St Patrick’s hospitality will be on show, and it is encouraged for all students to stick around or come early to support their school mates in additional fixtures.
Our main games of the day are our First XI Football vs St Pius at 10:15 AM on SPC 2 and our First XV Rugby taking on Cranbrook on Breen Oval at 3:15 PM.
We hope to continue to build our home ground as a fortress with as many students cheering and supporting our sides.
Congratulation to Matthew B, Emile D and Julian D who represent the U15 ISA Representative Touch Football team at the NSWCIS Touch Football Championships. The boys’ performances helped the ISA team finish as runners up on the day. Congratulations boys!
Good luck to all sides this weekend! Be St Pat’s Tough.

It was an exciting return to rugby after the holiday break, and the atmosphere at Knox Grammar couldn’t have been better. The sun was out, the crowd was buzzing, and there was a real sense of anticipation as teams ran out for their first fixtures of the year. The day carried extra significance with the First XV playing for the memorial Andrew “Big Dog” Campbell Cup, a match that always brings out passion, pride, and plenty of emotion from everyone involved.
The junior teams set the tone early, with the 13s and 14s delivering a clean sweep. Their performances were full of energy and intent, showing sharp skills and hunger to start the year strongly. As the schedule moved into senior grades, Knox showed their strength and experience. Despite plenty of effort and some strong passages of play, the senior teams couldn’t quite match Knox’s consistency across the park. The contests were physical and competitive, but Knox ultimately proved too strong in the older age brackets.
The First XV clash for the Andrew ‘Big Dog’ Campbell Cup lived up to its reputation. Both sides played with intensity and respect for the occasion, brutal, yet entertaining and producing a hard-fought match worthy of Andrew Campbell’s legacy. While Knox came away with the win, the spirit, fight, and commitment shown throughout the game were fitting for such an important fixture.
It’s going to be a big week ahead with preparations underway as we look to host Cranbrook and with the College Open Day and Year 7 Supporters’ Day taking place, it will make for an exciting day with a buzz around the grounds!
