A message from our Principal

Dear St. Brendan's School Community,

This is our last Newsletter for 2024 and the year has gone so quickly.  As I will be retiring, I would like to thank the following people.

Thanks to Joel Brian and our amazing staff.  I have loved working with you.  We are so happy to have such a dedicated, caring staff.  Good luck to Joel Brian on his appointment as Principal.  I'm thrilled Joel was appointed as Principal as he has great vision, wants to improve student learning and loves our St. Brendan's Community.

Congratulations to Jo Baldacchino on her appointment as Deputy Principal.  Jo has been in a Leadership position at our school and will be a great asset in the role of Deputy Principal.

Thanks to John Howley for all his work at our school.  John is retiring and will be sorely missed.  He has spent numerous hours at our school ensuring our facilities and grounds are kept in great condition.  John has been a Middle Years Learning and Teaching Leader and OH&S Co-ordinator.  We thank John for his amazing service.

Farewell to Nicky Mamone who is moving to Clifton Springs.  Nicky has been a passionate languages teacher who has engaged children so well in her Italian lessons.  Good luck Nicky on your move.

Goodbye to Eliza Bicknell who had a Gap year as a Learning Support Person.  We thank Eliza for all her wonderful work with children in Literacy and also her cooking lessons with a number of students.  Good luck at Uni.

Thanks to our School Advisory Council.  We have dedicated members who provide valuable support and ideas to our school.

Thanks to our Parents and Friends for all their organisation of social events and special days.

Special thanks to Father Joe Taylor and Father Jackson Saunders for all their support.  We wish Father Jackson all the best at Bendigo next year.

Thanks to all our parents for your wonderful support and friendship over the years.

Last but not least, our beautiful students at St. Brendan's.  Thank you for being such amazing and caring students.  I will miss you greatly.

Special thanks for the beautiful Assembly I had this morning.  I was very moved by the beautiful singing and lovely prayers.  The book I was presented is beautiful and holds lots of special memories.  Thanks to Joel Brian, Angela Collins, Leanne Pellegrino and Beth Seccull for all your work in organising such a beautiful send off.

I will always hold St. Brendan's as a special place in my heart.
