Wellbeing News

Dear School Families,

We are thrilled to share that we've had a wonderful start to the year! Our students have returned with excitement, energy, and a renewed focus on their learning. It’s also been an exciting time for our growing Wellbeing and Inclusion team, who are making meaningful connections with families and learners. We strongly believe that working together with families is key to supporting our students' success, and we’re grateful for the partnership as we embark on this year’s journey.

We have a host of exciting activities lined up, and we encourage you to stay connected by regularly checking the Compass platform. This is your go-to place for updates on upcoming holiday programs, in-school events, and other exciting opportunities designed to enrich our students’ experiences.

Cyberbullying Awareness and Online Safety

As we continue to navigate the digital age, it's more important than ever to be vigilant about the dangers of cyberbullying. Our school is committed to supporting families as they help their children safely navigate the online world. We ask for your partnership in encouraging positive online behavior and discussing the impacts of cyberbullying with your child.

Additionally, new legislation has been introduced that bans social media use for children under the age of 16. As part of our commitment to student safety, our school remains a phone-free zone, creating a space where students can focus on learning and engage with one another without the distractions and risks that social media can bring.

If you or your child experience any incidents of cyberbullying, the eSafety Commissioner offers helpful resources and a platform for reporting concerns. Together, we can create a safe and respectful online environment for all.

Wellbeing Team Update

The wellbeing team has been busy this year assisting students to settle into the new routines associated with their new year levels, classes and teachers. We have really enjoyed seeing several students make new social connections and develop confidence as they’ve demonstrated resilience by challenging anxiety! Well done!

New staff member

This year we have been privileged to welcome Jack Rhodes into a counselling role. Jack will be working full time with a focus on providing one-to-one support to students with a focus on ensuring they are supported to get the most out of their education at the College. Jack will also be involved in running group work programs and whole-school wellbeing initiatives. If you see him around, feel free to say hi – he doesn’t bite!
