Principal Team Update

Hi BPS families,

Welcome to the first newsletter for the 2025 school year. Term 1 is well underway and it's been wonderful seeing our students settle back into their learning, routines and getting to know their class and teachers.

2025 Student Leaders

Today we acknowledged and celebrated the leaders of our school, our Year 6 cohort, and in particular our Year 6 Students with leadership positions. We were thrilled to welcome back Ruby Murley and Archer Harrop, who were our School Captains in 2019 (when our current Year 6 cohort were in Prep!). They both spoke from the heart and it was evident their time at Beaumaris Primary positively impacted them. Enjoy reading their speeches they shared, both can be found on the Topic Spotlight page. Congratulations to the below students. We look forward to supporting your leadership journey throughout the year.

Welcome Back Campers!

Last week our Year 5 students headed to camp at Sovereign Hill, Ballarat. They have returned with many positive stories to share and memories made. A huge thank you to our staff, Ms Lauren Cooper, Mrs Samantha Robinson, Mrs Jacqui Wilson, Mr Max Pretty and Miss Grace Hulls who organised and attended the camp. A huge thank you also to the parents who volunteered. Without everyone's support, care, and time, these wonderful experiences aren't possible. Our Year 6 camp begins tomorrow, we trust they'll have a brilliant time.

Communication Updates

Thank you for being across a number of communications that have been sent already this term via Compass. There is a lot of information to share at the beginning of the school year, and we recognise there can be many things to be across. We appreciate your support. News Feed messages via Compass and our Stop Press Newsletter will be sent on a Tuesday this year. To ensure clarity, we sent out the below document which outlines our communication channels at Beaumaris Primary. We hope you find this helpful.

You will notice some updates to the Stop Press Newsletter pages this year. Thank you for your feedback in the communication survey that went out in Semester Two last year, the feedback received has driven these changes. We will continue to include a What's Happening for the fortnight from each year level. The 'What's Happening' is written by the teaching team, and aims to give parents/carers an overview and key pieces of information about what's taking place in their child's classroom for the current fortnight. This year, these will be shared across three pages (Junior School, Middle School, and Senior School) so that you can find the year level you need faster. We have removed the Birthdays page, and will include a Topic Spotlight page to share a range of information on a variety of topics. You'll also notice our Term Calendar format looks a little different and is hopefully more user friendly. We hope you enjoy these changes.

Meet the Office Team for 2025!

If emailing, calling or visiting our office staff this year, you may have noticed we have a new team! Please find a little more about our wonderful office team members below.

Hi, I am Catherine, I have been at BPS for a while as Business Manager, it is such a lovely place to work. I love spending time with my older children and my grandchildren. I love my garden, camping, making jams and playing my guitar.

Hello, I am Melissa. This is my 6th year at Beaumaris Primary School, so I am lucky to know many you already. I am very excited to be in the office this year, and am look forwarding to supporting our school community in 2025. When I am not in the office, I am either on the beach, by the side of the basketball court or at Scouts with my 3 children.

Hi, I'm Jen. Three years ago I started working casually at BPS, but this year you will see me every Tuesday and Wednesday in the office. 😊

I am known as Lolli and Nan-nan to my four grandchildren, but at BPS I am known as Jen. I look forward to a fun filled, busy year at 2025, interacting with the BPS community.

Hi, I'm Sue. My husband (Rob) & I have been living in Beaumaris for over 13 years - originally from Bendigo.  We have 3 children Lili 23, Fynn 22 & Noah 21.

On weekends I like to go walking, bike ride, catch up with friends & I love baking!
