1/2 Learning News

We have had a fantastic return to school for the 2025 school year! The children were so happy to see one another again, excitedly sharing what they had been up to over the holidays with peers and staff. I have been so impressed with how quickly they have settled back into the routine of school and the way they are communicating with one another. We had Miss Maree and Mrs G comment on their respectful and mature behaviour, which is just amazing so early in the year.
Our beliefs
On our very first day back at school we established some classroom beliefs to help guide us through the year. The students had wonderful ideas to ensure everyone felt heard, safe and respected. These are our beliefs:
- Everyone’s voice is important
- We show each other kindness
- We move carefully in all spaces
- We say sorry and we forgive
- We learn from our mistakes
- We play fairly
The children have made posters of each belief and these are on display in our classroom so we can be reminded of the environment we want to learn in
Teamwork makes dream work
As we begin the year and re-establish our relationships with one another, we have been completing a lot of group activities to encourage co-operation and positive communication. These activities have included competitive games such as Jenga and Uno, construction using Lego or mini blocks, as well as Maths and Literacy activities where we work together to achieve our goal. Each day the children are assigned a different partner so they have the opportunity to interact with everyone in the class.
