From the

Senior School

Dear BMGS Senior School Community,

As we approach the end of another remarkable year, I take this opportunity to reflect on the achievements, challenges, and growth that have defined 2024 for our Senior School students, staff, and community.

This year has been filled with countless moments of excellence and perseverance. Our students have continued to shine in their academics, leadership, sports, creative arts, and service to the community. Their determination and resilience have been inspiring, and it has been a privilege to witness their development as well-rounded young people.

Academic Excellence and Commitment

2024 has been a year of academic growth, with students achieving outstanding results across various subjects. From major works in Visual Arts and Design and Technology to the depth of understanding displayed in rigorous examinations, our students have consistently demonstrated their commitment to learning. We extend our congratulations to the graduating Class of 2024, who have shown remarkable dedication, especially in balancing the demands of Year 12.

Leadership and Service

Our Senior School leaders have been exemplary in their roles, setting a high standard for those who will follow in their footsteps. I commend our School Captains, Vice Captains, and Prefects, along with the many student leaders in co-curricular and house activities, for their contribution to making our school a vibrant and inclusive community. Leadership is about service, and our leaders have truly embodied this value.

Sporting and Co-Curricular Achievements

This year, our students excelled in a range of sports, with notable performances at the ISA, CIS, and national levels. We celebrate the commitment of students like Olivia Harris, whose achievements in elite rowing and netball exemplify the discipline and passion we value. In addition, our performing artists, debaters, and musicians have made us proud with their creativity and hard work.

Overcoming Challenges

As a community, we have supported one another through both triumphs and trials. Many students have faced personal and academic challenges, demonstrating resilience and grit in navigating difficult times. Their stories remind us of the strength found in unity and the power of perseverance.

Farewell to Departing Staff

As the year draws to a close, we also say farewell to several valued members of our staff who are moving on to new opportunities. Each of them has made a lasting impact on our school community, and we are deeply grateful for their dedication and service.

To all our departing staff, we wish you every success and happiness in your future endeavours. You will always remain a cherished part of the BMGS family.

Looking Ahead

As we prepare to close the chapter on 2024, we look forward to the opportunities of 2025. The upcoming year promises exciting new initiatives, fresh challenges, and continued growth for all our students. I look forward to writing to you at the beginning of the new academic year to provide further details and introduce new staff .

Our Year 10 and 11 students have already begun preparations for their respective next stages, embracing new responsibilities and opportunities.

Gratitude

None of our success would be possible without the unwavering support of our dedicated staff, parents, and guardians. Your partnership is invaluable in guiding our students to reach their potential. To our staff, thank you for your tireless commitment to excellence in education and the pastoral care of our students. For those who are leaving us, we wish you all the very best in your future endeavours.

Final Words

As we break for the holidays, I encourage our students to take time to rest, reflect, and reconnect with family and friends. To our Year 12 graduates, we wish you every success in the exciting paths you are about to embark upon. You will always remain a part of the BMGS family.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our Senior School. Wishing all of you a joyful and restful festive season.
