Chaplain's Message

Welcome to 2025! As we hit another year, I reflect that I too have hit another year with a birthday just gone. How quickly time flies and I wonder how on earth I arrived “here” so quickly.

As I ponder priorities for the new year, I found this in a favourite book of mine, Canopy of Stars “some reflections for the journey” by Chirstopher Gleeson, a comment on what has gone before. I find it thought provoking!

Attitude and Time

If I had my child to raise all over again,

I’d finger paint more and point the finger less.

I’d do less correcting and more connecting.

I’d take my eyes off my watch and watch more with my eyes.

I’d care to know less and know to care more.

I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.

I’d stop playing serious and seriously play.

I’d run through more fields and gaze at the stars.

I’d do more hugging and less tugging.

I’d be firm less often and affirm much more.

I’d build self-esteem first and the house later.

I’d teach less about the love of power and more about the power of love.

We can never go back – but looking at our priorities for today and the year to come can be such a powerful and indeed enjoyable exercise! How will we take the lessons learnt from yesterday to make a better tomorrow for ourselves and all those around us! In a world gone crazy, please remember we do not walk the journey alone – we can clothe ourselves in the wisdom and love of Almighty God – just ask! Have a lovely term and enjoy today.

Micah 6:8

He has told you, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
