Year 10 RISE Celebration

Character Development Team
On Friday 28 November, all Year 10 students came together to reflect on and celebrate their growth through the Year 10 RISE program.
Each student received a participation certificate and was acknowledged for their hard work and the positive impact they made throughout the year.
We also heard from several Year 4 students, who spoke with confidence and gratitude about the support they received from our Year 10s as part of the Peer Support Program. A photo presentation highlighted the Flying Fox experience, and members of the Duke of Edinburgh group shared reflections on their journey.
It was a meaningful and uplifting way to conclude the Year 10 RISE program. We are incredibly proud of every student, and grateful to the staff for their passion and commitment.
Below is a reflection from two Year 10 students that we are delighted to share:
Maddie Prentice, Year 10 Peer Support Leader
Peer Support was a new addition to the RISE Leadership program this year. Year 10 students demonstrated leadership by collaborating to create eight lesson plans on themes such as ‘Being a Better Friend’ and ‘Joining in With Others.’
Year 10 students then delivered these lessons to the Year 4s, teaching skills like resilience, patience and flexibility, while also fostering friendships between Year 10 and Year 4 students. Through this experience, everyone gained new skills, friendships and connections.
At the end of the program, a Year 10 Peer Support Leader reflected, 'It has been a great experience to build connection and learn more about myself and peers.'
I would highly recommend Peer Support to anyone considering it next year – it truly is an unforgettable experience!
Isabelle Li, Year 10 Peer Support Leader
The Peer Support program was a truly eye-opening experience for everyone involved. We collaborated with the Year 4 students to help them strengthen their relationships with peers and develop an understanding of respect and inclusivity.
But it wasn’t just the Year 4s who were learning new skills – we, the Peer Support leaders, were growing too. Throughout the program, we developed important life skills such as commitment, teamwork, leadership, and, most importantly, optimism. These skills helped us navigate challenges and build lasting friendships with the Year 4 students.
Personally, I had never imagined myself working with younger children, but the program was incredibly rewarding and sparked a new passion for me. Mrs Bahramis was an exceptional leader, offering constructive feedback and plenty of support to help us fine-tune our skills.
The Year 10 students will never forget this experience or the friendships we’ve created along the way.
