Welcome to the 2025 school year. As we conclude week 3, which comprises two full weeks of school, it is a pleasure to reconnect with our community.
Our school enrolment has increased to 550 students, including 120 new Year 7 students who joined us on January 31st. We are approaching our capacity on our current site. Significant efforts are underway to transition our school Master Plan from the design phase to construction at our new site, with the goal of initiating work at Gray Street by the end of this year.
We are also pleased to welcome several new staff members to our school this year:
Mrs Katherine Jones, Deputy Principal Community and Culture, RE and Art Teacher
Ms Hayley Brasser, Learning Support Officer (Year 7)
Miss Diana Cetina, Spanish and English Teacher
Ms Lauren Duyndam, Learning Support Officer (Year 9)
Mr Blaze Hamilton, Learning Support Officer (Year 10)
Ms Erin Jenkins, Learning Support Officer (Year 8)
Mr Assante Seguin, Mathematics and Science Teacher
Mrs Jessica Seton-Stewart, Learning Support Officer (Year 10)
Ms Paula Stevens, Student Counsellor
Mr Steven Venter, Learning Support Officer (Year 8)
We are pleased to announce the return of Mrs Courtney Bell, who teaches Science and Food Technology. Additionally, we are excited to welcome Mrs Tanya Farrell to our team as an English and Mathematics teacher, having successfully completed her teaching registration.
We take this opportunity to recognise and congratulate William Gilchrist for being named the Dux of our school for 2024, achieving an impressive ATAR result of 97.4.
We would also like to extend our congratulations to the following students who have attained a study score of 40 or higher for a Unit 3 & 4 subject in 2024. Achieving a score above 40 is a significant accomplishment, and these students should take great pride in their hard work and dedication.
This week, we hosted our Annual Swimming Carnival and Beginning of Year Mass. Events like these, where we unite as a community, are always sources of joy. I look forward to celebrating more wonderful occasions throughout the year.
