Digital Technology
Today your child will bring home a copy of St John’s Student Cybersafety Acceptable Use Policy and Agreement.
Please sign and return the last page to your child’s classroom teacher, to enable your child access to our school computer and devices.
St John’s Primary School recognises the need for students to be safe and responsible users of digital technologies. We believe that explicitly teaching about safe and responsible online behaviours is essential and is best taught in partnership with parents. We request that parents work with us by also using the same ICT (Information and Communication Technology) / Cybersafety behaviours at home. The measures to ensure the Cybersafety of students at St John’s outlined in this policy, are aligned with our Student Wellbeing policy and relate to our school expectations: Be respectful, safe and responsible. The overall ICT goal of the school is to create and maintain a Cybersafe culture which is in keeping with the values of the school and our legislative and professional obligations.
Inquiry Learning
Term 1 of every year is an exciting time where we begin to establish our relationships with our students and create safe spaces for learning to help our students flourish from the beginning. Our Inquiry unit focus this term is based on Health in line with our Victorian Curriculum. The staff and I are enthused by how our Health Inquiry units from P-6 will link so well with our message of Hope for the Year of Jubilee.
Here are some of our questions which will shape our Inquiry Learning this term:
Year P-2 - How can my strengths bring hope to others and the world?
Year 3-4 - How does understanding my strengths help to build resilience in myself and others for a hopeful future?
Year 5-6 - How can the choices I make help me to build a hopeful, healthy, balanced and connected life whilst contributing positively to my community?
The teachers will break down what this will look like in their newsletters to parents and term overviews which will be emailed soon.
This is wonderful picture story book which provides inspiration for a hopeful and healthy future. How can the message of HOPE keep us healthy?
This is a wonderful story to read to your children. A true message of HOPE and resilience.
