Religious Dimension

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to St John's and our new school year of 'HOPE'. Our staff are very excited about the opportunities and history around the 2025 Year of Jubilee for our Catholic parish and school. On our first day back the staff reflected on how we can be messengers and teachers of Hope with each other and especially with our students.

As a community of believers who follow the path of Jesus Christ, an exemplar model of Hope, we too can give this gift of HOPE to others.

Focussing on the Parable of the Sower and the rich meaning behind this story, the staff were immersed in the concept of Hope and how we will nurture this within our students.

Jesus shared parables as a gifts to his disciples, giving them stories to help spread his message. Leading the activity of Godly play with our staff on Tuesday, welcomed many wonderings and reflections on how environment and faith together can build hope for all, especially during challenging times that we all face in our lives.

Together, the staff are planning to offer rich foundations for our students’ so that their faith can grow as they learn to be patient and compassionate towards themselves and others.

We give thanks for all of our St. John’s staff for what they are doing to prepare their classrooms as learning spaces of HOPE for a wonderful year ahead.
