Principal's Report

As we come to the close of 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an outstanding year for Glen Innes High School.
This year has been defined by growth, resilience and a genuine commitment to learning and wellbeing. Across classrooms, sporting fields, cultural events and leadership opportunities, our students have consistently demonstrated pride in themselves and their school. The positive culture evident throughout the year is a credit to the strong partnerships between students, staff, families and our wider community.
I would like to acknowledge our 2025 HSC Top Achievers — Howard Eastwood, Kayden Elliott, Rory Husband, Jacob Zomer, Amity Cook and George Chard — and congratulate the entire HSC cohort on their success. Their achievements reflect not only individual dedication and perseverance, but also the collective effort of teachers, support staff and families who have supported them throughout their senior years.
In 2025, Glen Innes High School was ranked 297 in the HSC school rankings, based on the proportion of Band 6 results achieved. This represents a significant improvement on previous years and highlights the strong upward trajectory of the school. These results clearly demonstrate the commitment of our students to striving for excellence, alongside the professionalism, care and high expectations consistently demonstrated by our staff.
We wish the 2025 HSC cohort the very best as you take your next steps beyond school. Whether you are moving into further study, training, employment or new opportunities, we are incredibly proud of the young people you have become. We hope you leave Glen Innes High School with confidence in your abilities, pride in your achievements, and the knowledge that you will always be part of our school community. Your future is bright, and we look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish.
On a personal note, I would like to sincerely thank the students, staff and wider community for the warm welcome I have received this year. It has been an absolute pleasure working at Glen Innes High School. This is an excellent school with a strong foundation, a clear sense of purpose and an exciting future ahead.
I am very much looking forward to returning in 2026, as we have some amazing initiatives and opportunities planned that will continue to build on this year’s successes.
Please note: School resumes for all students on Monday, 2 February 2026, with all year groups returning together on the same day.
Thank you for a wonderful year, and I wish everyone a safe, restful and well-deserved break.
Relieving Principal
