A message from Mr Steed

Wishing you a wonderful end of year – Thank you for your support
On behalf of the staff of Hurstville Public School, I would like to wish all of our students and their families the most wonderful and enjoyable end of year. Your support of our students and of all of opportunities our school community creates for young people is so very much appreciated. I am extremely proud to be the Principal of this incredible school and I marvel at the unity and collaboration that exists across our school community.
2025 has been a year of triumphs for Hurstville PS. Our students have demonstrated once again their immense skill, dedication and commitment to learning. Hurstville PS’ recent inclusion in the list of 20 Highest Achieving Schools in NSW, based on 2025 NAPLAN results is a wonderful indictment of the enormous capacity of our students, coupled with the care and expertise of our fantastic teachers, specialist and support staff.
As we move into the end of 2025, it is time to take stock and reflect on all that has transpired this year. We have so much to be thankful for and, as a school community, so many things to be grateful about.
Remember, over summer, give your kids plenty of extra hugs – just because you can!!
We look forward to seeing you all again in 2026.
Students return for the beginning of the school year on Monday 2 February 2026.
Congratulations to Anna L. – Year 6 – NSW Basketball Representative
Well done to Anna L. from Year 6 who has been recently selected to represent NSW in basketball to play in a national tournament held in Melbourne in January 2026.
Anna is considered one of the top twenty Under 14 Years girls basketball players in NSW. Anna’s state team will compete in Melbourne against the best basketball talents from across all other states and territories in Australia this summer.
Well done on this amazing achievement, Anna and best of luck in Melbourne representing NSW.
