Assistant Principal's report

Dear Families,
What an incredible way to finish the year. So much has happened and so much deserves celebration. As we farewell our wonderful Year 6 Leaders, we also warmly welcome our new Prep students who will be joining us in 2026.
A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers for their commitment and hard work this year in supporting students’ academic and social emotional growth. Our formal Handover Meetings reflect our strong whole school approach to transition. These meetings allow next year’s teachers to begin building connections with families and to start the year well informed, with strategies in place to support students as they settle into new routines.
Congratulations to our 2026 Wellbeing Captains
A big congratulations to Piper and Chloe, who have been appointed as our 2026 Wellbeing Captains. We are excited to see the ideas and leadership they bring to the role next year.
Welcome to Country
In line with our commitment to Child Safe Standard 1: Establishing a culturally safe environment, the 2026 school year will begin with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony performed by Elder Uncle Mark Brown. More information will be shared early next year.
Introducing the Stand Up Project
In 2026 we are delighted to introduce the Stand Up Project as part of our wellbeing offerings. This award winning program reduces discrimination, harassment and bullying through student designed and delivered Upstander Training. It places a strong emphasis on student voice, agency and leadership.
Students have shared that after the Buddy Leadership Program in Year 4 there is a large leap into Year 6 Leadership. To bridge this gap, selected Year 5 students will participate in the Stand Up Project next year.
Safe Socials: Resources for Families
For families seeking support with online safety, the Safe Socials (Primary) resource provides practical tips to help primary age students navigate online spaces safely and confidently.
Have a lovely break,
Leanne Williams
