TA Topic
This term in TA students have been supported through new transitions and social media laws that will be in place as of the 10th of December. Students have discussed what this will mean for them and expressed what will be challenging and positive in response to these new rules and regulations. Additionally, students returned their focus to factors that might affect their concentration, decision making and outcomes as the year comes closer to an end. Things that could be affecting their outcomes can include how well they are sleeping, eating, exercising, connecting with others and resting. It was a good reminder of how each of these areas can contribute to how we feel at school, in our social contexts and in our leisure activities. This has been important as fatigue has set in and as assessments have occurred throughout the term.
Year 7 Transitions
Wednesday saw us commencing our Years 5 to 8 transitions. We had over 20 students in attendance and it was great to see them interact with each other and their new teachers. They were inducted into the school’s procedures and undertook a school tour. We look forward to seeing them again next week.
Homework
With only a few weeks to go, it is important that our students continue to undertake their homework. This gives them the opportunity to master the work undertaken in class and make connections to home. The completion of homework has been very good for the duration of the year, however, we have seen a slight drop off the last few weeks.
Coming Events
The Year 8 Funfields celebration is not far away. Next Thursday, 4th December, will see our Year 8s spending the day at the theme park. This is normally a fun day out to ride as many waterslides as possible and interact with friends.
On the same day our Years 5 and 6 students will be at Murray Life Adventures in Torrumbarry. This is our first time visiting this park but a great chance to have fun and utilise all of the activities. Some of these include the flying fox, high ropes, archery and giant swing.
We are looking forward to the Year 6 Celebration on Monday 8th December. This is a wonderful night where we can celebrate the last seven years of our Year 6's school journey. They are very excited and we can’t wait to share in both the formal and informal part of the evening with parents.
