From the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Members of the St Augustine’s College Community,

As we approach the final weeks of the school year, I have found myself reflecting on my first year as Principal of St Augustine’s College. It has been a privilege to lead this community, and I could not be prouder of the achievements of our students, staff and families. Together, we have strengthened learning, deepened connections and continued to grow and thrive as a community.

One of the most significant developments this year has been the implementation of Magnify, our whole-school approach to strengthening learning outcomes. The impact Magnify has had on student growth, confidence and achievement has been outstanding. Through targeted instruction, data-informed practice and consistent learning routines, we have seen students engage more deeply with their learning and make measurable progress across all year levels. I am incredibly proud of our staff for the way they have embraced this approach and equally proud of our students for the way they have risen to the challenge. Magnify continues to shape a culture where high expectations and strong support, work hand-in-hand to help every learner flourish.

While the year is drawing to a close, we still have many significant events ahead of us, including the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, the F-4 and 5-8 End of Year Assemblies, the Year 8 Funfields excursion, F-4 Carols, the Years 5/6 Murray Life Adventures excursion, Year 6 Celebration Evening, Statewide Orientation Day, the College Awards Celebration, our Whole School Christmas Liturgy and the F-6 Activity Days. These events are important markers of celebration, growth and transition, and I look forward to sharing these moments with our students and families.

Teachers are currently finalising assessments and writing reports. I want to extend my sincere thanks to them for their dedication, professionalism and care throughout the year. They have played a central role in your child’s growth and development. If you have the opportunity, I encourage you to take a moment to thank them for their hard work – I know they would appreciate it.

As many families are aware, our F-8 team-teaching approach means that students are supported by a team of educators rather than a single classroom teacher. Each child is allocated a TA, who will remain your primary point of contact for any questions or concerns. A significant amount of planning, professional collaboration and discernment goes into staffing decisions and TA allocations. We ask for your continued support and trust in this process, and we encourage you to approach the new year with a positive mindset so your child can thrive and reach their full potential.

We have strong enrolments heading into 2026. If your plans have changed and your child will not be returning next year, please notify the College office as soon as possible, as this greatly assists our staffing and planning.

As we enter the season of Advent, we are reminded that Christmas is a time of hope - hope in new beginnings, hope in each other and hope in the promise of what lies ahead. May this season bring peace, joy and renewal to you and your families.

Thank you for your trust, support and partnership throughout my first year as Principal. I look forward to continuing our journey together in 2026 and beyond.

Warm regards,

Tim Campbell
