Days are adjusted only; therefore, none of the lesson times will change.


Expression of Interest
The Whittlesea Primary School swimming trials will be taking place on Monday, 15th December at Whittlesea Swimming Pool.
The trials will be conducted during your child's swimming lesson on that day. If your child wishes to try out, however does not currently participate in the school swimming lessons or is in year 2 the school will coordinate those students walking to and from the pool.
All participants must be able to confidently swim at least one of the recognised strokes for 50 metres.
A selection of students who perform well at the trials will go on to represent Whittlesea Primary School at the District Swimming Carnival in early 2026 in one or more of the following events.

Swimming Trials 2-5 - Google Forms
On Monday, 15th Dec, our Year 6 Students will have the opportunity to receive the Victorian Water Safety Certificate. To do this, they will need to demonstrate the competencies required for the Victorian Water Safety Certificate.
This event will be on Compass soon.
This is not compulsory, and your child can opt out of the event.
Below are the requirements:
(Must be competent swimmers to attend, do not opt in unless this is the case)
Students who opt in will be tested during a theory session in the gym, then walk to the Whittlesea Pools with Mrs Northridge to complete a practical VWSC test.
The Victorian Water Safety Certificate is a Victorian Government initiative that identifies the knowledge and skills required for students to enjoy water-based activities safely in aquatic environments. The certificate establishes and evaluates minimum swimming and water safety competencies for primary school students. The competencies focus on:
The Victorian Curriculum requires students to demonstrate the competencies of the Victorian Water Safety Certificate by the time they leave Year 6.
