Level 3 & 4

Week 10, Term 4

We are maintaining regular routines at school as much as possible as we approach the end of the year. It has been a busy few weeks and we understand that students are feeling tired and less resilient than usual, however maintaining a predictable routine promotes a feeling of security which is important for all students.

Reminders

Please make sure that your child has their sun smart school hat at school each day along with a water bottle to ensure they are adequately hydrated, especially on hot days.

SAKG Celebration

Our Grade 4 students will have their last SAKG celebration session either on Tuesday (4B) or Thursday (4A) this week.

Curriculum

Literacy

In Literacy, students will continue to write and publish narratives. They will be focusing on the structure, including descriptive detail and choosing interesting vocabulary to make their writing engaging for the reader.

Students will be reading about South America, learning interesting facts about the continent, exploring landmarks such as glaciers and/or the Amazon River. They will be focusing on writing written responses and answering comprehension questions to demonstrate their understanding.

What you can do at home: You may like to discuss interesting facts they have learnt about South America, and also research information about this continent with your child! (It may inspire a future holiday destination!)

Maths

In Maths, we will be revising over all the different concepts taught this year, all with a fun Christmas theme!

What you can do at home: Please encourage your child to continue to practice their times tables and complete tasks on Mathletics.
