School Council Report

Over the last couple of weeks, the school review has been taking place. The school was able to identify things that could be improved on, but there were many things to be celebrated too. Overall, the review was a success and, we are just waiting on final improvement plans.

The building works in the school are well underway and all construction is planned to be finished before the return of students in 2026.

Planning for the end of year CONNECT program is coming together. This year the students will participate in a tournament style competition with the challenges being themed around the TV series Survivor. There will be two days of these challenges and then there will be a trip into Albury for a movie and some shopping time provided. All of these activities have been planned for the best interests of the students and for them to all come together and have some fun before the school holidays.

Planning for the Year 9 Future Makers camp and the Year 7 camp has already started for 2026. Both these camps are great opportunities to develop more friendships and get to know each other more, as well as just being really fun and a great experience. On top of this we also have 4 students going to The School for Student Leadership in 2026. Another great leadership opportunity to be selected for. Congratulations to those selected and have fun!

The Student Executive Committee has been working hard to plan the structure of the group and possible agenda items for next year. The team was successfully able to identify things that have worked well and things that could be improved on. All of this information will go towards building the next Student Executive Committee for 2026. The final fundraiser that the current committee will run is the end of term free dress. The theme for this is casual dress. A gold coin donation will be required if not in school uniform. All money raised will go to a foundation of the group’s choice. More information to come.

School council wishes all families a safe and happy summer holiday season.
