Celebrating Outstanding Student Achievement at Doncaster Secondary College
As the academic year draws to a close, Doncaster Secondary College is proud to acknowledge the exceptional accomplishments of our students, whose hard work, resilience and commitment to excellence have made 2025 a remarkable year.
Outstanding VCE Results
This year’s VCE results reflect the dedication of our students and the unwavering support of our teaching staff and families. We are delighted to share the following achievements:
- Median Study Score: 32
- English Median Study Score: 34
- ATARs Above 90: 17.5% of students
- ATARs Above 70: 63% of students
We are especially proud to recognise our highest achievers:
- DUX – Amin Soleyman: 99.65
- Second Highest ATAR – Bryan Lam: 99.1
We also congratulate our top international student, Meyly Te, who achieved an outstanding ATAR of 97.9. Meyly’s result reflects her exceptional determination and academic excellence.
Strong subject performances were evident across the cohort, including:
- English – Median Study Score 34
- Biology – Median Study Score 35
- Art – Median Study Score 35
- EAL – Median Study Score 33
We are especially proud that 100% of our VCE Vocational Major students successfully attained their VCE-VM or VCE certificate. Our graduates now move into a wide range of pathways, including university, TAFE, apprenticeships, traineeships, and employment, well prepared for life beyond school.
Narrm Scholarship Recipient – Ollie Blanchard
Doncaster Secondary College is incredibly proud to celebrate Ollie Blanchard, one of our School Captains, who has been awarded the prestigious Narrm Scholarship for 2025.
Awarded by the University of Melbourne, the Narrm Scholarship recognises domestic students entering undergraduate study who have demonstrated resilience and determination in the face of disadvantaged circumstances. The scholarship reflects the university’s commitment to fostering a community where students feel safe, respected and connected — a place where they can thrive both academically and socially.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to his leadership, perseverance and strength of character.

Celebrating Excellence: Our 2026 Victorian Global Learning Awards Finalists!
We are incredibly proud to announce that four of our international students have been selected as finalists in the 2026 Victorian Global Learning Awards — a remarkable achievement that recognises their leadership, global citizenship, and positive contributions to our school community.
Junyu (William) Yan
Finalist: Student Leadership Award – Junior High School (Years 7–8)William has shown exceptional commitment to leadership through his involvement in school programs, academic dedication, and his supportive, positive attitude. As a young leader, he continues to inspire others with his curiosity, determination, and willingness to take on challenges.
Zian (Mia) GAO
Finalist: Student Leadership Award – Middle School (Years 9–10)
Mia has demonstrated exceptional commitment to leadership through her active involvement in school activities, strong academic focus, and consistently positive attitude. As an emerging young leader, she inspires those around her with her resilience, confidence, and willingness to embrace new challenges. Her dedication and enthusiasm reflect her growing potential and the valuable contribution she makes to our school community.
Kuysing (Kyle) Te
Finalist: Global Citizen Award – Year 11
Kyle has been a driving force in promoting inclusion, leadership, and cross-cultural engagement within our school. His ongoing commitment to supporting others — especially through academic mentoring and student activities — reflects the true spirit of a global citizen.
Meyly (Elly) Te
Finalist: Global Citizen Award – Year 12
Elly’s passion for community and cultural understanding, has made a significant impact on our international student program. Her contributions to mentoring, peer support, and student-led initiatives demonstrate maturity, kindness, and a strong sense of global responsibility.

These achievements highlight not only the outstanding talents of our international students but also the warm, supportive, and inclusive learning environment at Doncaster Secondary College. Our International Student Program is dedicated to fostering confidence, leadership, and cross-cultural understanding, ensuring every student feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Our strong international student culture encourages young people to grow as leaders, critical thinkers, and compassionate members of a global community. The accomplishments of William, Mia, Elly, and Kyle reflect the strength of this community and the positive impact of a school environment that celebrates diversity, student voice, and global citizenship.

Celebrating Success at the 2025 Youth Lyrebirds Awards
Doncaster Secondary College is proud to extend its warmest congratulations to Georgia Moodie, who was awarded Best Supporting Actor at the 2025 Youth Lyrebirds Awards held at Bunjil Place on Sunday. This is an outstanding and well-deserved achievement that reflects Georgia’s talent, dedication and passion for the performing arts.
We would also like to acknowledge the exceptional work of El Parker and Georgia, who both took on the role of presenters at this year’s ceremony. They were articulate, confident and represented our school with professionalism and pride.
It was also wonderful to see strong support from our school community, with our newly appointed Performing Arts Captain, Henry Sroczynski, along with Charlotte Erwin and her family, attending the event to cheer on the nominees.
The afternoon was a terrific celebration of creativity and achievement, and we are incredibly proud of all the students involved. Congratulations once again to Georgia, and thank you to everyone who supported our performers on this special occasion.
