INTRODUCING OUR GERMAN CAPTAINS FOR 2024

 

This year we are delighted to have the assistance of our 2024 German Captains, Elise and Justin.

Both of these Grade 6 students have demonstrated a wonderful passion and enthusiasm towards their German language learning since commencing at Rangeview. Last year they also both participated in the AGTV German Poetry Competition with excellent results.

Elise and Justin have written a fabulous introduction about themselves in German and English. Enjoy:

 

ELISE

ENGLISCH: Hi! My name is Elise and I am very excited to be one of your 2024 German Captains.  I can't wait for a wonderful year of learning German with you and look forward to presenting the German word or phrase of the week and celebrating our annual RPS Oktoberfest with you! 

I love all things chocolate - like chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake and chocolate frogs. I really want to go to Germany to try the chocolate there, because it is meant to be the best in the world. 

One of my favourite words in German is the letter ‘y‘ because it is pronounced 'oopsilon'! 

I also really love celebrating Oktoberfest because we get to eat pretzels and gingerbread hearts and we get to do lots of cool activities, like craft and games. Bye!

 

DEUTSCH: Hallo! Mein Name ist Elise und ich freue mich sehr, eine Ihrer deutschen Kapitäne 2024 zu sein. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, mit Ihnen ein wundervolles Jahr Deutsch zu lernen und freue mich darauf, das deutsche Wort oder die deutsche Phrase der Woche vorzustellen und mit Ihnen unser jährliches RPS-Oktoberfest zu feiern!

Ich liebe alles, was mit Schokolade zu tun hat – wie Schokoladeneis, Schokoladenkuchen und Schokoladenfrösche. Ich möchte unbedingt nach Deutschland, um dort die Schokolade zu probieren, denn sie soll die beste der Welt sein.

Eines meiner Lieblingswörter im Deutschen ist der Buchstabe „y“, weil er „oopsilon“ ausgesprochen wird!

Ich feiere das Oktoberfest auch sehr gerne, weil wir Brezeln und Lebkuchenherzen essen und viele coole Aktivitäten wie Basteln und Spiele machen können. Tschüss!

JUSTIN

ENGLISCH: Hello, my name is Justin and I am German Captain for the school for 2024. I am very grateful for being one of the school leaders. I enjoy spending time with my family and playing video games on the weekends with my little brother. I also like reading action books, playing tennis and playing downball with my friends. I love learning German because it is fun and can boost my brain power. I am looking forward to presenting the German words of the week each week and having fun celebrating Oktoberfest later in the year.

 

DEUTSCH: Hallo, ich heiße Justin und ich bin der deutsche Kapitän für zweitausendvierundzwanzig. Ich bin sehr dankbar, dass ich einer der Schulleiter bin. Ich genieße es, Zeit mit meiner Familie zu verbringen und am Wochenende mit meinem kleinen Bruder Videospiele zu spielen. Ich lese auch gerne Aktionsbücher, spiele Tennis und spiele mit meinen Freunden Downball. Ich liebe es, Deutsch zu lernen, weil es Spaß macht und meine Gehirnleistung steigern kann. Ich freue mich darauf, jede Woche die deutschen Wörter der Woche zu präsentieren und Spaß zu haben, das Oktoberfest später im Jahr zu feiern.
