LEADERSHIP TEAM

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

It's hard to believe we're already four weeks in to term 1 of 2024!  In this brief time, we've witnessed some remarkable successes in student achievements throughout the school.  A special acknowledgment goes out to all students who recently completed their PAT testing, contributing valuable data that will greatly benefit our school. Additionally, our senior school students have had the opportunity to engage in study skill workshops provided by Elevate. These workshops are particularly crucial as our senior students navigate their final years of secondary education.  It's a chance for them to hone essential skills that will serve them well in their academic journey.

This week we held our Swimming Sports Carnival down at the Red Cliffs Swimming Pool. Great to see so many students join in, compete, and encourage their teammates throughout the day. In what was perfect conditions for a swimming carnival, I thank all students and the many staff that organised this event. A big congratulations to TERRAGONG, the winning house breaking a 12-year drought!  I also take the opportunity to congratulate all age group champions on the day.

On Tuesday, 13th February, Red Cliffs Secondary College hosted our Annual Investiture Ceremony. The ceremony marked an important occasion to acknowledge those in various school leadership positions, recognising the importance of their role within our school. Our Year 12 students, College Captains, House Captains, School Ambassadors and SRC Executives were presented with badges to acknowledge their leadership within the school.

Our Year 8 students recently embarked on a camp to Malmsbury, providing them with valuable opportunities for team-building and personal growth. Such experiences outside the classroom enrich our students' educational journey and contribute to their overall development. Thanks to Jake Anders who organised the camp and was supported by Michelle Black and Dave Laity. From all reports our students did an amazing job and were very well behaved.

A friendly reminder that tomorrow, on the 24th of February, Red Cliffs Secondary College will be hosting a fundraising BBQ at Bunnings Warehouse. This initiative aims to support Isabell Alchin in her quest to represent Australia in an Athletics meet in Canada. Your participation makes a significant difference, so if you find yourself free, please consider popping down to Bunnings and treating yourself to a sausage. All proceeds from the BBQ will contribute to Isabell's journey, and your support is highly appreciated.

In closing, I would to again thank all students, parents and community members for supporting our school. We look forward to continuing to build upon the great momentum as we move into the second half of Term 1.
