Principal Notes

Remembering the Legacy of Mr. Bruno Matuschka, Founding Principal of Good Shepherd Lutheran School Para Vista

I would like to take this time to acknowledge the life of Mr Bruno Matuschka who passed away late last week (1928 – 2024).  Mr Matuschka was 95 years old and had served in several Lutheran Schools around Australia.  Most noteworthy to our community Mr Matuschka served here at Good Shepherd as the founding principal from 1981 – 1989.

At our schools 40th birthday celebrations, Mr Matuschka shared the following words, “Be proud, be joyful and enjoy what God has given to you … the joy and the rejoicing, of being with other people who have like minds about their children’s future.”

This school is a joyful place and I thank God for the work that Mr Matuschka did in the founding years of the school.  For those in our community that had a connection with Mr. Matuschka, his funeral will be held at 10am on Monday 12th February 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Laidley QLD, and it will be live streamed.

Parent Partnership Nights (PPN)

Parental involvement and support will always be a critical factor in keeping communication channels open and working effectively for the benefit of all children.

Parent Partnership Nights (PPN) represent one way in which we can support parents as we work together towards helping children reach their potential. The evening is stressed as compulsory for all parents.  Get along and enjoy our hospitality and welcome, and to take away important information to support a successful home-school partnership.
