Updates:

There are lots of cool things to update you on for this year.

One piece of excellent news is that our own Jessie Eyre will be a published author very soon.

It's a wellbeing journal for children. We'll have more to share on this - including the official launch and a special local event - in about one month's time.

This year, all classes will have the opportunity to spend time with our Bush Classroom teacher, Whaea Nicole.

Bush School - and our enviro garden - are special features of our school. Whaea Nicole is passionate about her programme and ensuring our children have real-life, hands-on learning in a natural, engaging environment.

Student Council - Kairaktaki:

Our senior students have been campaigning to be elected as Kaiarataki - Student Leaders or Councillors.

Auri ran an effective campaign - spot his clever election strategy in the photo.

Auri is an exceptional young man with many admirable talents and true leadership qualities.

He is also savvy and came up with an election strategy that was bound to be popular with the 'electorate'.

Dedicated Diver Heidi:

Heidi did an amazing job at the Auckland Regional Dive Champs over the weekend. She competed in three events, totalling 15 dives.

In her age group (11 & under), Heidi won two first-place positions and came third in the other!  This was Heidi's first nationally graded competition.

After school had finished for 2023, Auckland Diving recognised Heidi as "Most Improved in the 11 & under grade".

Now that this event is over, Heidi will start training to compete at the NZ Nationals in June.

Above left - I caught this from Heidi at Point Erin Pools. At right - at her competition meet.

Last weekend I travelled to Papamoa for a family event. As I was walking in to dinner I met two very familiar faces - Thea and Willa. Willa used to greet me every morning from about age two onwards, and she and Thea loved WHS but then moved to Papamoa at the end of last year. It was awesome to see them both.

Lost Clothing Found - Keen To Return Home:

We have lots of clothing items that were leading a happy life with families they belonged to. This clothing was loved, regularly washed and hung out in the sun and breeze, and enjoyed time with their beloved owners.

Now these poor items of clothing are squashed into a dark box and locked away from friends and family. They desperately want to go back home - so come and check out if any of these items are calling out to you, and if so welcome them back to your home.

Thanks.
