Devotion

For the right time and place

In Acts 17: 24 - 28, the Apostle Paul says: "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being.

The concept of “for a time like this” or "I'm in the right place" are ideas that we might think about now and again, but we may not necessarily take the time to then think about this in terms of God's good plans for us, and our lives, and our community.

Thinking in this way, though, helps to set God before us.

God has given each of us opportunities, relationships and friendships, resources, education and much more. He opens these opportunities to optimise His good works and positive plans for us!

As we commence this year we are grateful for our students, families and staff team whom God has brought together to be a fantastic community together in this place and to reflect His love for us.

God, we pray that you will continue to lead each of our hearts and minds toward you and toward the roles that you have  chosen for us to live out. Help us to put Your will and Your purpose ahead of our own. We humbly seek your direction and guidance, as well as your courage to live out the calling we've been given for this time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
