Principal's Report

Respect, Creativity, Endeavour, Friendliness, Honesty, Trust

Welcome Back!

Welcome to a new school year! To those joining our lovely little community in 2024, we hope you have had a smooth transition so far. Please reach out to the school, our PFA or your fellow parents and carers if you need anything.

During our curriculum day on Monday, staff accomplished a great deal in preparation for the new school year, including updates to Level 2 First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma qualifications for all staff; as well as briefings on Child Safe Standards and OHS requirements.

During my visits to classrooms this week, I have been very impressed with the way that all classes are operating, with students settling quickly and calmly across the board. A credit to our excellent staff, dedicated students and wonderfully supportive families.

Let's have a great year in 2024!

PFA Welcome Back Coffee Morning

As mentioned on the 'What's Happening' page of the newsletter, next Friday 9th of February we will have a coffee van outside of the hall under the new shade sail. All parents and carers are welcome to come between 8:30 and 9:30 and enjoy a free hot drink and a catch-up to start your day.

Please note that the coffee van is provided for adults only, sorry students!

Many thanks to Tara Mouncey and our own Dan Deltondo from Noel Jones Real Estate for providing the van for our community to enjoy!

School Swimming Programs

In line with Department of Education Policy focused on ensuring that all students have multiple opportunities to develop essential water safety skills, this year all year levels will participate in a one week swimming program. These programs will occur in June (Years 3&4), August (Years 5&6), and November (Years F-2). Details to follow via Compass closer to each program. Thanks to Tim Fearn-Wannan for coordinating our school swimming programs.

Construction Update

As mentioned in my Compass message on Monday, installation of our new heating and cooling infrastructure is progressing well.

Thank you to our brilliant staff for taking these disruptions in their stride; thanks also to parents, carers and students for your patience in finding new classrooms and dropoff/pickup routines while the work is ongoing.

New Shade Structure

The school holiday period has also seen the installation of a new shade structure outside the hall. This waterproof shade will offer our year three and four students a shady/dry spot to gather during line-up times our during light showers of rain.

Financial Assistance

In keeping with our strong commitment to inclusion at Roberts McCubbin Primary School, if your family is finding payment for a school event to be prohibitive, please contact myself or Business Manager Melissa for a confidential discussion of options.
