Term 1 Learning Conversations

Term 1 Learning Conversations will be held on Thursday 22nd February. Bookings are now open for our Term 1 Learning Conversations and can be made using your PAM Account.

Parent-Student-Teacher Learning Conversations allow for the co-creation and monitoring of student learning goals. All families are strongly encouraged to make a booking. Bookings will be face-to-face in classrooms unless families indicate that they would like to hold their conversation online.

Thursday 22nd February is a Pupil Free Day to allow for teachers and families to meet for Learning Conversations.

Graduate Outcome Awards

At every assembly this year, we will celebrate students who demonstrate our Graduate Outcome focus. At our Assembly last week, we congratulated several students (and Mrs. Tegg) on their efforts in displaying the Graduate Outcome of RESPECT. For the next fortnight, staff are on the lookout for students who display the Graduate Outcome of FAITH.

NAPLAN Update

The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. It tests the types of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life. The tests cover skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy. The assessments are undertaken every year in March. NAPLAN is run at the direction of the Education Council. Please see below for the assessment schedule and additional parent information.

Carlton Football Club Visit

On Wednesday, 14th February, we welcomed players from the Carlton Football Club to St. Therese's. Many Blues and Football fans lined up to meet and chat with some of their favorite players.

Catholic Swimming Championships

Congratulations to the 31 students who represented St. Therese's so well at the Catholic Schools Swimming Championships on Tuesday 20th February. They displayed great sportsmanship and competitiveness on the day to come away as the winning school. There were some impressive swims on the day. None more so than our 11-year-old Boys Freestyle Relay team who not only came first but smashed the long-standing record from 2006. Well done to all our competitors and we wish all swimmers moving onto the SSV Division swimming next month all the very best.
