WELCOME

Welcome to the new school year for 2024! We've enjoyed a very smooth start to the term, setting high expectations in our classrooms, completing all of our start-of-year pre-testing and getting stuck into learning! We are in for a fantastic year and can't be prouder of the start our students have made!

IN OUR LEARNING

Our focuses in our learning so far have been:

Reading - Exploring literal and inferred information, making inferences and investigating the use of literary devices in texts.

Writing - Narratives - students have planned and developed detailed Narrative stories.

Maths - Column addition and subtraction, creating and analysing graphs and representing probabilities in different ways

Humanities - (History) - Exploring indigenous lifestyles before colonisation and how this began to change as colonisation began.

STATE SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR

Following a thorough audition process, our 16 students have been selected to represent OPS at this year's Victorian State Schools Spectacular. This year, Grade 4 students were also included in this process. Our first major rehearsal at Officer Secondary College will be held next week and we are currently eagerly awaiting this year's dance routines to be made available!
