2024 Connect Program and House Allocations
In 2024, there are some key changes to how the Connect Program is structured and delivered.
Key information about the program:
- Connect will be occurring in 2 x 29 minute sessions a week, running on Tuesdays and Friday before period 3.
- Connect will run on a 4 weeks cycle in structure, with a maximum of two cycles per term. Any additional weeks/lessons in the term are regular Connect lessons.
- In the 4 week cycle:
- Each year level will have one assembly.
- The whole school will have one house based lesson at the same time. All classes participate in the same activity/challenge for house points. This will be made up of mixed students across different year levels from the same house.
- Peer support lessons for Year 7s and Year 10s will occur once a cycle. We are also looking to extend the program for an additional year allowing relationships to continue into Year 8 and Year 11.
- Feedback will be regularly sought on the new program through the following ways:
- Student feedback: One lesson a term will be used for class captains to get feedback from their class on the program to date. They will then provide this feedback to Year Level Captains who will synthesize and present back to the school.
- Staff feedback: During one of the Connect meetings each term, YLPLs will get feedback from their Tutors which will go back to the Student Management and Learning and Relationships Teams.
- Communication and announcements for students will occur through the Year Level Pages. All Tutors will be added to the relevant Year Level pages so they can see posts and direct students to the page.

House allocations for 2024
We have 4 Houses at Northcote High School. These houses are named after local parks, landmarks and activists.
All classes stay in their same house each year, below is a table with the 2024 House allocations. We are excited to incorporate more House activities in the Connect Program, which will also include House Colour dress days!
Each house has an emblem that was created by our students.
