Night of Music 2024
On Saturday 7th September, 103 IPS children performed in the Night of Music concert held at Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School Performing Arts Centre. The concert was presented by the Heidelberg Orchestras and we are so grateful that they invite our school to participate each year. This year we took the Corelli Strings, Orchestra and a Choir that was specially put together for this event.
It was really exciting to see all the groups rise to the occasion and perform with great enthusiasm and togetherness.
Here is what some of the participants wrote about it:
Night of Music was a big hit for everyone. It was awesome hearing Corelli Strings, Choir, Orchestra and Junior Strings of Banyule playing.
It started off nice and smooth everyone in Corelli Strings played a set of amazing pieces but the last one was the fastest I’ve ever played. They were remarkable considering it’s only their second year playing.
Then Choir took the stage with their singing.
Orchestra was beautiful and to our surprise they gifted a beautiful bouquet to Marjorie the person who was in charge of Night of Music.
At the end Junior Strings of Banyule entered the room with four pieces everyone was shocked when Choir sang for the beauty of the Earth with The Junior Strings of Banyule.
Neeva 3O (Choir, Corelli Strings)
I really enjoyed playing and singing with others. It was an amazing night of performing and everybody had a brilliant time. I think the Night of Music is a great event to have each and every year!
Tennyson 4C (Choir, Corelli Strings)
The Night of Music was amazing and truly a collaborative effort. Seeing everyone come together was so beautiful, there isn’t another feeling like it. I would like to extend my gratitude to Margaret for conducting and bring us together, she was like a lighthouse guiding us through a musical journey.
