A warm welcome back to all in our Junior School learning community. I trust the school holiday break was a rewarding and relaxing two weeks.
It is hard to believe we are heading into the final quarter of 2024. Things certainly don’t slow in Term 4. We have nine very full weeks ahead of us, with a lot to look forward to and celebrate.
‘Dates in the calendar are closer than you think.’
The southwest has delivered its usual eclectic spring weather for the start of Term 4. We are in a two-week period of grace where students can opt for summer or winter uniform. A reminder that boys must wear a tie if they choose to wear a blazer. All students are required to be in summer uniform at the commencement of Week 3. Hats are mandatory in our playground at recess and lunch. They can be left at school.
The final day of Term 3 was Footy Colours Day at Myrniong. We welcomed eight visiting students to the Junior School, and all had a great day. Well done, Learmonth House, which raised $340.00 for the Fight Cancer Foundation with a delicious bake sale and gold coin donations.
Excitement is building as we count down the days until Frozen Jr., the Junior School’s first musical. Rehearsals have been progressing extremely well, and I know our students are very excited about being on stage.
There is a very limited number of tickets available for opening night, Thursday, 17 October, at 6.00 pm. There is still seating available for the matinee on Friday, 18 October, at 1.00 pm.
A parent letter was emailed on Tuesday, outlining the schedule for next week. A good idea will be to place a copy on the fridge for easy reference. With bus travel, rehearsals and many costume changes on the horizon, Junior School students may wear their P.E. uniform for the week.
Mrs. Cameron has released the theme for our 2025 Student Diary Art Competition. ELC 4 to Year 5 students are invited to submit entries in the coming weeks. ‘Under the Sea’ is the theme. We will select four winners for the front and back covers of the Prep to Year 3 and Year 4 to Year 6 dairies. Entries must be in portrait orientation.
After a hugely successful season, it is now time to return all hockey shirts. Please send Division 4 and Division 5 shirts to the Junior School reception.
