ACU visit

Australian Catholic University came to visit our Year 12 students.

Current ACU students, including 2 of Kurunjang’s past Alumni presented on what it’s like to be studying at ACU; passing on valuable information, tips and course details.


Melbourne Sports Institute

The Melbourne Sports Institute provide coaches and umpires to schools across Melbourne for inter-school sports competitions, and they would like to offer Year 12 students an exciting opportunity for casual employment after they graduate.

 

They offer flexible shifts Monday to Saturday, allowing students to build their own schedule based on their availability. This is a fantastic way for those interested in a career in the Sport & Recreation Industry or as a Physical Education teacher to gain valuable industry experience.

  

They welcome applicants who are passionate about sport, particularly those with significant playing experience.

 

OVERVIEW OF THE EMPLOYMENT PROCESS:

Step 2: Receive available coaching and umpiring positions for your sport/s of interest

Step 3: Create your own work schedule based on individual availability

Step 4: Receive a confirmation of your allocated shifts

Step 5: Staff are paid fortnightly

 

Payment:

  • All our positions are paid
  • Umpiring is considered non-taxable income
  • Coaching is taxable income
  • Coaching staff are paid minimum 2 hours per session and receive superannuation payment

Staff Requirements:

  • Victorian Working with Children Check
  • Adequate knowledge and experience in your chosen sport


Youth Grounds Training Program – Kurunjang

 

YouthGrounds Training Program is a 10-week Café and work readiness program tailored for young people aged 16-24 with a connection to the West.

 

This program is designed to offer progressive real-world experiences and skill development. Their comprehensive program covers a wide range of essential

areas, including barista skills, interview techniques, networking strategies, effective communication, resume building, teamwork, employee rights, financial
