THE 'SEPSIBALD' (our Archibald) PORTRAIT GALLERY in the Staffroom.

LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS BLACK AND WHITE- OR IS IT? in the Performing Arts Room.

Here are some sneak peaks at the amazing work in the show from Level 5 Students from our 'Connections' project. Students chose their base from vinyls, canvas or circle paper. The challenge was to find something they 'connected with' in music, the world, their interests, their art strengths, and create an interesting image using materials of their choice.

Physical Education

Starting the term off strong with the F-2 students working their bouncing, catching, throwing, running and dodging skills using the game of basketball. Through explicit instructions and games, they have been keeping their eyes forward, pushing the ball from their finger pads and bouncing to weight height. The next few weeks will progress into shooting and small-sided games.

The senior school have been learning the game of gridiron! Which is a new game for the majority of students. This is proving to be a hit with students learning the "Down, set, hut", snapping and spiral throwing downfield. Drills have been layered to allow for an understanding of the game. In the next few weeks, we will continue to add additional attacking and defending players to develop game awareness, while working on ball-handling skills and strategies within the game.

Performing Arts

The show must go on! Book week can be a fraught time the performing arts room. While stories are at the heart of what we do, and colourful costumes are often employed, some costumes are more practical than others. That said it was amazing to see princesses, wizards, butterflies and all manner of characters joining in the drumming and acro-balance lessons.

Excelsior!
