Biodiversity Update from Mrs Earle

Spring has Sprung: Biodiversity is Blooming!

As the warmer weather settles in, we’re excited to share some fantastic biodiversity developments happening around our school!

One of the most exciting projects underway is the creation of a brand-new garden space near the SLC. This area will soon come to life as we install a water irrigation system, making it the perfect spot for our planting week, planned for early Term 4. Once the irrigation system is in place, our amazing parent community will help us plant a range of fruit trees, flowers and develop our veggie patch.

The new garden will also feature an exciting bug hotel, creating a home for all kinds of beneficial insects to flourish and help maintain the biodiversity of our garden.

Thanks to Mr Earle for developing this area.

Birdwatching at Ocean Grove Primary School!

We are excited to share that our school has become a popular spot for some special feathered visitors! Just last week, a Tawny Frogmouth was spotted near the Year 1 area, exciting students and staff with its unique appearance. Additionally, a family of ducks has been happily enjoying our school grounds.

We encourage everyone to keep their eyes open for more birdlife. If you happen to spot anything interesting in the schoolyard, please let us know—we'd love to hear about it!
