Faith Matters

at St Francis Xavier School

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

What a busy, beautiful time we had last term, particularly during the last two weeks. So many great events, excursions and experiences. We are anticipating a similarly busy and productive final term.

Thank you

'How good it is when God's people live together in unity.' Psalm 133:1

I would like to acknowledge the parents and staff who worked together to facilitate the disco evening. A huge thank you to our wonderful parents Ange, Meghan, Rebecca, Shaunie, Mel and Perri for shopping, decorating and helping with supervision. And, thank you to the staff who stayed on after school to assist with games and supervision. The highlight was the music provided by our brilliant DJ dad Nathan, who played a huge range of fabulous tracks based on the children's requests. Events like this are really enhanced when we have parent support and, without question, this was the best disco we've experienced at SFX!

We look forward to future events and will be inviting parents/carers to work with us in a variety of ways so that we can offer more lovely experiences like this for our children..

Wednesday Morning Whole School Prayer

It was great to see a few of our parents joining in the Whole School Prayer on Wednesday.

Our focus was sharing information about saying the Rosary as October is the Month of the Rosary. Teachers will be undertaking some Rosary activities in class with the intention of further enhancing the children's understanding of why and how we use the rosary prayers and rosary beads. We have multiple sets of rosary beads and information cards about how to say the rosary if any of our families would like to borrow them during October. Next week's Wednesday Whole School Prayer will be a focus on the Holy Spirit which will give the children an insight into what's occurring with our Year 6s who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Save the Date

You will shortly receive further information about a very special Whole School Mass which we are organising for Saturday 16th November at 6pm. Fr Chinua has kindly agreed to let the children take responsibility for the readings, lead the singing etc on this evening,

We hope you can join us.

God's blessings to you all,
