News from the Library
Hello Everyone!
We are excited to share some fantastic news and highlights from our library this month. It’s been a busy time, full of creativity, celebration, and of course, a lot of great books! Here’s what’s been happening:
Welcome Elyse Carmel to Our Library Team!
We are thrilled to introduce Elyse Carmel, our new library staff member who has already made a huge impact. Elyse has jumped into her role with enthusiasm and ease, bringing a vibrant energy to our space. Not only is she a master of all things crafty—students have been loving her creative projects—but she also has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Young Adult fiction. Whether you’re looking for your next great read or need some help with a crafty project, Elyse is here to assist!
Father’s Day Fun in the Makerspace
In celebration of Father’s Day, our Makerspace was buzzing with activity at lunchtimes. Students got creative, designing and hand-making personalized cards, coupons, and bookmarks as heartfelt gifts. It was wonderful to see so much thought and effort going into these unique creations, and we hope all the dads out there loved their handmade tokens of appreciation!
Book Week: The Biggest Celebration of the Year!
Book Week is always a highlight in our library calendar, and this year was no exception! We celebrated with an array of exciting activities, including stunning book displays, dress-up days where staff came as their favourite book characters (including Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter); and of course, a focus on the ‘Book of the Year Award’ nominees. It was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate reading and storytelling for this year’s theme, “Reading Is Magic.” Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of this year’s award winners!
We look forward to seeing even more of you in the library soon! Whether you’re stopping by to say hello to Elyse, create something special in the Makerspace, or find your next favourite book, there’s always something happening here.
Happy reading!
