Primary School
As we continue our journey through this school year, we want to take a moment to highlight the core values that guide our community: integrity, respect, compassion and commitment. These values are not just words; they are the foundation of our school culture and play a vital role in shaping our students into responsible and caring individuals.
Integrity is about being honest and making the right choices, even when no one is watching. Our students have been engaged in discussions about what it means to act with integrity, both in school and at home. We believe that fostering this quality helps build a trustworthy environment where everyone can thrive.
Respect is at the heart of our interactions. We teach our students to appreciate each other's differences and to listen actively. Through the Athletics Carnival, school tours, House activities and camps, students will be able to demonstrate teamwork and understanding, reinforcing the importance of valuing each person's unique contributions.
Compassion encourages us to empathise with others and to lend a helping hand. Our community service projects are a great way for students to practise compassion, whether it’s through collecting food for local families, making hearts for the thousand hearts project or just inviting someone to play with you.
Finally, commitment is the dedication we show to our studies, our friends and our community. In Term Four students are encouraged to set and reflect on their personal goals and work diligently to achieve them as the year ends. Whether it's completing a project or improving a skill, we are proud of our students for their hard work and perseverance.
We are grateful for your continued support in instilling these values in our students. Together, we can cultivate a nurturing and inspiring environment where every child can flourish.
Kambarang: Warmer weather is coming
As the weather starts to get warmer, we would like to take this opportunity to remind students that hats must be worn while outside. This rule is in place regardless of the weather during Term Four. Some spare hats are available, but loss of playtime and House points will be in place.
Mathematics Sparks Excitement for All
The very last day of Term Three also brought with it one of the most hotly contested prizes on our House point competition schedule: the Interhouse Primary Maths Relay!
This starts in Year One where all Houses get the starting question and work individually to solve it first. As soon as there is a correct answer the House baton is allowed to be relayed to Year Two where only that House can start. As the batons move from class to class, the Houses all wait and watch with trepidation and excitement to see when they will be able to start.
As soon as each House has moved from the year group, the whole class moves to surround them and cheer wholeheartedly. It got quite loud there for a while!
Some teachers were kinder than others and gave easier questions. Some teachers were...slightly more exacting and demanded academic challenge right up to the dying moments at the end of term. Here is one of the questions we had to solve. Thanks so much for that challenge, Miss Nichols.
We are very pleased to report a joint victory in a rushed finish by Baudin and Wilson, followed closely by Camfield and Mokare.
Enjoy a photo and video HERE from the day, and in case you were wondering, the answer to that question was that the cost for the booking was $1,168.70.

Chris Sleeman | Year Six student- Fundraising Challenge
A message from Ms Agata Sleeman
Our three children, Pablo (13), Chris and Sophie (6) decided to participate in the Royal Flying Doctors Oceans to Outback Fundraising Challenge. They are riding 700km or more to raise funds for RFDS. So far, they have raised over $23,000 since they started three weeks ago and they are the second largest fundraiser across all of Australia – across individuals, teams and workplaces. They have ridden 267km – over a third of their target, but they plan to ride further in the hope that it will raise more much needed funds.
In addition, the boys who have been selling icy poles – Harry, Henry, Charlie and Chris all agreed to donate the funds raised to this RFDS challenge. You will see their contribution of $151 on the supporters section of the page and acknowledges all those who bought icy poles at GSG.
You can visit Chris' fundraising page here https://www.oceanstooutback.org.au/fundraisers/chrissleeman/oceans-to-outback
that also has a link to the team page which has the totals the team has raised and how far they have ridden.
During Alex’s ordeal, he was flown by RFDS to Perth, and it has thus become a cause very close to our hearts.
