I wish to thank Heidi Armstrong for taking over my role whilst I was away. Not only did she keep everything rolling along beautifully, but she also excelled in all areas, making my return to the chair very easy. Thanks very much for your efforts.

With the end of term approaching rapidly there are quite a few things on the program that need to be completed.

Quiz Night

Next week, we have the return of the annual quiz night. This has always been so much fun, but over the last few years we unfortunately had to postpone the event due to COVID and the situation around meeting in large numbers.

We have had huge support from staff who have volunteered to join in on the tables with the students on the night. There will be some prizes and it is a great chance for everyone to show off their knowledge.

This year, the Student Councillors are organising the tables via a computer program that will randomly select all tables. Staff will then be allocated to tables with random selection of envelopes.

Leavers

We also have a former member of the WA Police Force coming in to speak with our Year 12 students about the next part of their journey out into the real world. What to expect, how to seek assistance, how to look after yourself and your mates. We try each year to have someone in to speak with the students.

Year 12 Dinner

In the final week, we also have the Year 12 student dinner, where all Year 12s, both Boarding and Day, are invited to meet onsite.  After photos, we will depart for a final dinner together at Brugan in Wokalup.

This is for the students to have some fun together for the last night that they are together, as the following day, some students will depart for the final time.

Year 12 Residential Departure

In preparation for departure from the residence, can I remind all our Year 12 boarders that they must have their padlock, room key, allocated laundry tub and boot box present. This will dramatically speed up the sign-out process.

It is probably also a great idea to start taking home some of the accumulated belongings that everyone seems to acquire in their room. It is not until you come to packing these items up that you realise that you may not fit this all in one vehicle.  So from years of experience, the advice is to start removing it a little at a time.
