Principal's Message

Mrs. Cassie Lynch

Dear Families,

Welcome to another action packed newsletter with many exciting updates for our parent community. As a school, we love to showcase the things our amazing students are doing.

Magnify Sandhurst

In our last newsletter, we announced the very exciting change in direction for not only Our Lady's Primary School, but all schools in Catholic Education Sandhurst.

We are using one very simple motto to explain our intention;

Every student

Every teacher

Every school

Every day

The plan moving forward involves staff professional learning in;

  • Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • Religion
  • Neuroscience (how the brain works)
  • Behaviour

The training that is coming our way is well beyond what Our Lady's could have ever achieved individually and is literally a dream come true. Working together as Catholic Education Sandhurst means that your child in our school will receive the best our system can offer. All staff will be provided with high quality, targeted learning that is set to improve student outcomes.

We look forward to sharing more with you as time goes on. This is an incredibly exciting time in Education!

Staffing Update

I am currently in the process of organising 2025 which includes looking at our budget, student numbers and organisational structure for 2025. We have a large group of Grade 6's leaving us at the end of the year and only a small cohort of students entering our school. This means that I am currently in the process of responding to this and restructuring our school to suit.

Moving forward, we can guarantee;

  • quality education
  • small class sizes
  • individual approach

This means however that we are farewelling Mrs. Caroline Horg at the end of the year. With changes to positions within the school, I am unable to retain Mrs. Horg's amazing service. We will be able at this stage to maintain our 6 classrooms as a priority, but our leadership structure is set to change in response to reduced numbers.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Mrs. Horg for her outstanding service to our school. Caroline has been just what we needed this year in all areas. We will formally farewell Caroline at the end of the year.

More updates about class structures will be announced once everything is finalised.

School Review

This week our school will undertake a full school review. This review helps us to;

  • create a shared vision for improving the school
  • listens to all voices to highlight school strengths
  • affirms our work

The staff and community here at Our Lady's is a truly unique one.

Blessings,

Cassie
