Prayer

On Tuesday this week we gathered as a school community to pray and celebrate St Michael, the Archangel, our Patron Saint.

Prayer to St Michael the Archangel

Loving God,

We thank you for Saint Michael the Archangel,

the brave protector who stands for truth, justice, and peace.

St Michael reminds us to be strong in faith

and to defend what is right, even when it’s hard.

Help us to be like St Michael —courageous when we face challenges,

kind and fair in our actions,

and ready to stand up for others who need our help.

Guide us to use our gifts to bring goodness to our school and our world,

and keep us safe under your loving care.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Dear St Michael’s School families,

TWILIGHT SPORT CHANGE OF DATE

As mentioned in our last newsletter on 18th September, Warner Reserve will be undergoing works to their grounds between 1st November to 8th December so we are unable to hold our annual Twilight Sports event as originally planned. An Operoo went out on Monday this week to inform you that this will be held on Wednesday 22nd October from 1.00-3.30pm at Warner Reserve. We understand and apologise for the short notice and hope that many parents are still able to attend. We will require parent helpers for this event, so please respond via Operoo if you are able to assist. Students will need their to wear their

St. Michael’s sport shorts, hat, and house colour T-shirt. We also recommend that students bring a healthy afternoon snack and an extra water bottle. An Operoo alert will be sent out by 9:00am on Wednesday, October 22nd, if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.

STAFF NEWS

We take this opportunity to congratulate Mrs Rachael Lampe who is expecting a child, due in March of 2026. We are so happy for Rachael and her husband, Nick, and wish them every happiness in this wonderful journey together. Rachael will remain teaching in One/Two G until the end of the year.

TERM FOUR SCHOOL ENHANCEMENT SESSION

This term we are confirming our School Enhancement Session for Friday 14th November, 5.00-7.00pm. If you haven't been to one, this is your chance to join us to help with some of the gardening, maintenance works that regularly need doing in our school. Save the date in your calendar and an Operoo notice will be released shortly!

LUCINDA EVERLASTINGS SEEDS

You may recall last term we shared with you information about these amazingly beautiful, hardy plants. If you wish to purchase some of these for your own garden, you may do so through our school, and also help with some fundraising. See the notice on our Community News page for more details and how to order.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL

Congratulations to all our students on their incredible effort and enthusiasm in last night’s School of Pop production! It was wonderful to see each class perform with such confidence, energy, and stage presence. Our students showed great teamwork and focus as they brought their items to life. Those with leading roles also did an outstanding job — knowing exactly where they needed to be, what to do, and delivering their lines with clarity and confidence. What a fantastic achievement!

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parent helpers who assisted with costumes and helped manage those last-minute details — your support is always appreciated. Thank you also to our dedicated staff for their commitment in rehearsing with the students, encouraging every child to participate and feel proud of their performance. For some, being on stage can be a big challenge, and it was wonderful to see every student shine.

Finally, a very special thank you to Jess Fary, who led this production with great passion and organisation. Jess, your creativity, leadership, and dedication made this event such a success, and we are truly grateful for all you have done to make School of Pop such a memorable experience for our students and community.

ST MICHAEL'S SCHOOL PILGRIMAGE

As this year is the Year of Jubilee, as a school we are making arrangements to attend St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne City together. Details of transport, what we will be doing and how you can help will be coming soon. The date for this very special day has been set for FRIDAY 14TH NOVEMBER. Stay tuned for more information about the pilgrimage.

This date was originally set as an assembly date for One/Two G. One/Two G (Lampe) will now combine with One/Two B (Ashton) for their assembly, which will be held on Friday 28th November. Please note this change of date in your calendars.

TERM FOUR SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY

We remind families that on Wednesday 26th November the school will be closed for a staff planning day. We have informed TheirCare of this date in advance of this date. Please make contact with TheirCare if you wish to book them in for this day.
