School Production

PRODUCTION NEWS - "THE TOYS" - WEDNESDAY 15TH OCTOBER (NOT THE 16TH)
Date change + Production Day Information
Our whole school production of ‘The Toys’ will now take place on Wednesday, the 15th of October (one day earlier than planned) at 1.30pm and 7pm. ALL Students are required for both shows.
Students are to be dropped off at Ripponlea Primary in their uniforms (as per normal) on production day and collected from Ripponlea Primary (in their costumes) at approx. 4pm (TBC). All students' will then need to be brought to the theatre and signed in by an adult approx. 1 hour before the evening show - still wearing their costumes. Please note that a detailed production day schedule and drop-off point map will be sent out in Week 1 of next term.
Tickets for Matinee
While the evening show is nearly sold out, we strongly encourage grandparents and extended family members to attend the Matinee session! LINK TO TICKETS HERE.
Working Bee - Thank You!
A huge thank you to all the families who joined our Working Bee on Saturday, September 6th. Your time and energy have made a massive difference… the sets, props and costumes are really starting to come together and it’s all getting very exciting!
Keep rehearsing over the holidays!
We kindly ask the Grade 5-6 parents to use the school holidays to help their children rehearse their lines. With a two-week break and our performance happening in Week 2 of Term 4, it’s vital that all lines and cues are practised at home so students return performance ready. A link to the script can be found here. LINK TO SCRIPT
Social Media Updates
Please follow our school's social media pages and share the posts to encourage your family and friends to purchase tickets. Word of mouth is our best channel for getting the info out to the community.
Costumes
Thank you to everyone who submitted their costumes to school by the September 5th deadline. If you haven’t already brought your child’s costume, please do so ASAP.
Performance Day Volunteers
If you are helping out on the day of the production, you will need to have a current Working With Children Check. If you don't have one, the process takes only a few minutes. To get your WWC, or check your status, head to https://www.vic.gov.au/working-with-children-check
If there is anything you need to know about the production, please contact writer/director Jess Asz at jessasz.postprod@gmail.com
We can’t wait to share this production with you. Thank you for your support in helping the students shine on stage!
About the Show – The Toys
In a world where toys have never existed, one restless kid is determined to make Christmas feel magical. When Deedee Smith and her siblings sneak into a mysterious old building, they accidentally unlock a long-forgotten toy factory… and the secrets it holds. Inside, they discover a colourful cast of toys that were built to bring joy - but have never been played with... until now.
Set to a soundtrack of iconic 90s hits, The Toys is a story about imagination, family, and the importance of play - starring malfunctioning dolls, melodramatic toy robots, boot-scootin’ cowboys and cowgirls, jazz-handed teddy bears and plenty more.
With our Year 5/6 students in speaking roles - and every student from Foundation to Year 6 taking part in a dance number - we can’t wait to bring The Toys to life on stage this October!
